Maabarot Products' agricultural department has been in operation since 1964.
The department manufactures milk substitutes mainly for calves, lambs and piglets, and also for foals, elephants – in fact, for animals of all kinds. In the past twenty years the department has acquired experience in the Israeli development of vaccines for cattle and sucklings in collaboration with government research entities.

Technology
The advantages of using milk substitutes:
• Different formulas can be adapted for different breeding plans and different animals by combining protein and energy sources, vitamins, minerals, and other microelements according to the suckling's changing needs.
• The following can be included in the milk substitutes: antibiotic growth catalysts, Probiotics and Prebiotics, coccidiostats, immunoglobulins, diarrhea prevention supplements, various prescription medicines such as antibiotics to treat pneumonia.
• The sterility of the substitute is higher than that of liquid milk – raw materials are pasteurized and controlled to the appropriate bacterial level.
• Preservatives are added to prolong shelf life, as well as antifoaming substances, pH-reducing substances, taste and smell enhancers, etc.
• The milk substitute simulates mother's milk in its composition and has added values. The suckling can be suckled and the milk that is produced marketed, from the third day after birth, when trade terms justify this.

The production process
The production method is based on dry powder mixing!

Addition of microelements and various supplements.
Use of liquid oils injected onto the powders.
All raw materials are automatically poured according to computerized formulas.
Raw materials are sieved before mixing.

Product is sampled before packaging for laboratory testing.
